War of Bugz...

Don't get me wrong... the title of today's entry is not from the latest movie or anything... but more about myself. Been hit hard by the bugz this whole week... ended up with adverse reactions like a choking swollen throat ( made breathing and swallowing such painful procedures ), swollen eyes and currently down with flu and several swellings on my arms and legs with itchiness that drives me crazy....

Sigh... feel so lethargic right now... I'm quite surprised with my own commitment to work despite not being at the best of health the whole week, missing only a day's work... even the doctor nagged at me for trying to be so gung-ho, taking the risk despite a severe allergic rxn... still oblivious about the source of it all though...

On the brighter side, I try to forget bout' my health woes by postphoning my runs and sportclimbing sessions with my dear by reading n resting more... leading to a finished book called 'Brainfit' by Corinne L. Gediman and Francis M. Crinella.

This book provides many proven tips and tricks for me to utilise ( such as information retention and retrieval strategies ) to improve my short and long term memory of many things...

How to be a less forgetful person ( considering I recently lost my mastercard )... to fully utilise and cross-train both sides of my brain ( read: by the way I'm right brain dominant )that will help me unleash my full intellectual potential as well as to avoid the possibilities of getting brain-aging diseases when I hit my golden years....

The brain stimulation exercises and examples embedded within each chapter were fun to try out, especially with your loved one.... great book for everyone, not just geeks...here's a truth of fact that might motivate you to proactively engage ur brain cells often...

~ The average adult permanently loses thousands of brain cells daily...~

Here's a song that currently makes my day.... so pure and full of love it helps me feel better....

Terminal 3...

He he he...luv!! Sorry for the delay for my side of the stories. Been quite a while since i blogged, and truthfully now i regret not punching in the prose in here, as i have to relearn and recreate the brain cells that have been lost. Shucks...

I was tasked to write on the recent trip to our very own, the newest addition to our already highly-acclained chain of terminals in Changi International Airport. Aviation has always been my other half of all the other halves of my life, so this piece is rightfully mine to write.

Changi International Airport has come a long way since its early days of its conception due to lack of space at Old Paya Lebar Airport and its official opening in July 1983.

My simple blog entry will not do any justice to all the firsts and accolades that Changi (WSSS) has earned over the years, but then again our visit to Terminal 3 re-enforced the fact that, in order for our economy to grow at at the comfortable rate of 7-8% anually, unemployement 2-3% and a manageble inflation rate,(ie. making every singaporean happy),one of our mainstay economic driver ie aviation services industry has to be the best in Asia and the region. And no, your eyes are not fooling you when you see increasing activity of trucks going in and out of Seletar, as Loyang is already filled to its brim in aircraft services MNCs.

So the next time you hear anyone frets about why the fuss to be number one, or why must we really need to spent billions of dollars on another look-good terminal to impress the world... well just tell them your jobs depend on it, mate...!!hehehe.... Look at those fancyful high-tech able-to-sense-no-light-give-some-more-light ceilings...!!!(Que:WOW...OOOHH Ahhh..!!!)

Here the design of cascading waterfall feature at one of the terminal's arrival gates, as seen from a level up, is not without prior thought. Yes, if the round circular orbital halo is not there, it represents a tombstone. Fenshui design roots, you got it.

How can the word D-E-P-A-R-T-U-R-E be any different?(except for being non-English).From here on is where the fun really starts for departing passengers, where they get to enjoy the other 60% of the terminal's best....hey best things in life aren't free hor....Sign!

There you have it....our trip to Terminal 3, with its ultra-modern looks and a whole lot of people and systems working together to make it all glitch free. Its a mammoth task to keep it running well-oiled, from getting bags delivered on time to toilets being literally spotless... Singapore's brand of being first, best and equally competitive if not better has triumphed again here... Why?? because the nation's ricebowl, and indeed yours and mine, depends on this Uniquely-Singapore 'obsession'.

Coming.. trade-pass look on the inaugral Singapore Airshow...!!!

A beautiful song....

Here's a song that will definitely make my hubby's day.... it's his current fav song... listen to the lyrics... it definitely summarizes our 3-yrs relationship together... love you timelessly dear... but I'm still waiting for you to write an entry today before I contribute any myself...lalala....

Sport Climbing Proficiency...

Spent my whole day today at Yishun Safra, for a sport climbing proficiency course, which took about 8 hours... It was an extremely fun & enjoyable experience for me, considering it was something new I tried... So thankful to my sweet hubby for his company as my belaying partner while I climbed, despite the fact he already had the level one certification in proficiency climbing...

It was easier said than done.... Found out first-hand that climbing those walls with small stones jutting out wasn't truly as easy as seen on TV... haha!! It was challenging, as you have to focus your mind on multiple things while climbing up - safety, balance, clear communication with your partner & planning which stones are best to utilise to hoist yourself upwards with lesser effort....

The most interesting aspect of this sport is your intellect plays a larger factor than your brawn, in determining whether you will succeed reaching the top of the wall... For a beginner like me to ascend halfway up the wall, is quite a feat ( that is, from my own point of view.. )

Will be looking forward to clock in more climbing sessions to polish up on our climbing skills, before signing up for the more advanced proficiency climbing course...
